Students may now access the AALC server from home to do homework and save it. This will take care of the issue of printer problems and so on. This should be used for written work, not for internet searching, as the internet is very slow through the server.
To access the server from home or the library, click on the start button and go to All Programs. Go to Accessories, to Communications, and click on Remote Desktop Connection. When the dialog box comes up, type in aalc.brclient.com and click Connect. On the next dialog box, type in the user name, which in most cases is the first initial of the student’s first name and the last name, no spaces or hyphens, followed by .aalc. For example, Mrs. Kreiner’s username would be kkreiner.aalc—notice there is no .com. The password is the home phone number in most cases, without the area code.
